My singles ward had a Christmas film contest and my group won!! I'd like to dedicate the success of the movie to Jonny and Matt! Jonny made the film hilarious with his amazing acting skills and Matt did an excellent job directing and editing the video!!

The Bible Christmas Story 

Luke Chapter 2, King James Version

Luke 2 in the New Testament is the sacred account of the birth of Jesus Christ. With links to songs, articles, and videos, you can now experience the familiar story in a new way.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. A Time to Dance

Here's my attempt at "scrapbooking" the fun time we had at the institute Christmas dance! We definitely had a good time partying the night away! With great food and fun dancing we all had an enjoyable night! 

{I didn't expect anything less since Jessica and I were in charge of the whole dance. haha! Overall it was a lot of work but totally worth it in the end. Institute council is so much fun and I love being involved with all of the activities that we host!}

Thanksgiving memories

I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone! Before I know it Christmas will already be here! Although Thanksgiving has passed, it's never too late to share the things you are thankful for... so here it goes!

For Thanksgiving I was able to go visit my family in Cedar City, UT! I had a GREAT time visiting everybody and getting away from the stresses of everyday life. During our vacation we ate food, had a ping pong tournament with the family, watched football, ate some more, visited the St. George temple, went shopping, ate more food, had sisterly bonding time, and plenty of family bonding time. Here are some scriptures that I absolutely love that have stood out to me lately. Each of these scriptures can really help me to put things in perspective and help me remember the bigger picture. No matter what difficulties we may be going though, I know that God is always there and that he truly loves and cares for each of us. 

Doctrine & Covenants 68:6

Wherefore, be of good cheer and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

Doctrine & Covenants 121:7-8

My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;  And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.

Matthew 19:26

With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Random thoughts

1. School is annoying, time consuming, obnoxious, and so on...

BUT next semester I will be changing things up and I am very excited! 

Here's a hint.

2. I've decided boys are weird... 

which is probably an understatement.

Is it really that hard to find somebody who... 

Prince Charming

• is a gentleman. 
• has the same love for the gospel as I do.
• is not crazy aggressive about getting married in a rush. 
• is not lazy.
• has a fun-loving personality.
• enjoys serving others.
• is intelligent and can hold an interesting conversation.
• has goals and a plan for life.
• is somewhat good looking (added bonus).
• will plan dates and shows interest. 
• overall is thoughtful, nice, and outgoing.

Is that too much to ask?? For reals... it shouldn't be that hard, but it is. Not that I'm in a rush to find a guy or anything... I have plenty of time. It's just funny that the more dates I go on the pickier I become and the harder it is to imagine there being somebody that will fit into all of the bulletin points. (Those points are flexible and not set in stone, but those broad descriptions would be ideal.) I wouldn't say I'm really picky, but I do have standards and expectations. So anyways, moral of the story... boys are weird. The end! :)

Update!

Yes, I am still alive! These past few months have been CRAZY!! (no exaggeration.) I have had some amazing "ups" and some interesting "downs" along the way... but overall life is great and I love it! Sorry I've been slacking on the blog updates! I will now take you on a fast tour of the random things that have taken place so far this semester... It has been quite an adventure!

Jumpstreet with Jon: This motivated me to learn how to do a legit flip on the trampoline. As of right now I'll I am capable of doing is a front flip, landing on my butt or knees. Annoying! Jon was flipping around like a crazy monkey! I was just a little bit jealous.

Ping Pong Tournament: Allison, Jon, and I are on the "Feeding the Sheep" comittee for the Tempe Institute council and we hosted a ping pong tournament!

I can't believe my little Cassie is all grown up and MARRIED!! I am so happy for her and Marv and I know they will have a great life together! They are such cute couple!!

Lex and I had legit costumes, not gonna lie! We had a great time taking Anna around trick or treating and an even better time at the Family Home Evening dance for our stake! Great times!!

What was funny is that I had a TON of people ask me if this was my real hair! hahaha! I WISH! Ok, not really... that would be cool for one day and then would get REALLY annoying. I will treasure that wig forever! Let me tell you... an afro makes everything 100 x more fun!

Weirdos: This picture can sum up all of the weird and random things Jessica and I do... along with all of the free stuff we receive from the College Times booth on a consistent basis! I have a good eye for freebies on campus!

This is probably the closest thing to fishing I have ever done, so I was excited! One of these days I'm going to go real fishing with a hook and everything! haha! Btw, Kevin was a good sport about wearing the outfit I brought for him... I'm pretty sure he fell in love with it and didn't even want to take it off! Can you blame him?!

Well that basically gets me all caught up with life! Of course that's not everything, but those are the highlights over the past few months! 

I love all of my friends and family! I am glad Lex and I have been able to share many of our adventures together now that she's at ASU. We can ALWAYS have a great time together and it's really funny how similar we are! I'll try to be a more faithful blogger, but life is busy and insane! School is driving me nuts and when I'm not out doing these fun things you get to witness I am getting consumed by school work and studying! Love it! haha! I love my job and my callings in the church. I am on the institute council and am now the Family Home Evening Co-chair! Although this will keep me especially busy... I am very excited and am up for the challenge!
